#gerilenmbf: Minola Premium Cooking Oil

Once upon One Thousand and One Nights

Sinbad the sailor shipped through the sea for the fifth time.

He landed near a small town and ended up throwing rocks at the monkeys so that they will retaliate and toss down Indian nuts from very tall palm trees.

The process was so dangerous, it has a high chance of forming lumps, if not bloody on your forehead. But indeed, it was very, very lucrative.

Sinbad the sailor returns home rich once more because he sold the fruits of cocos nucifera, or simply the coconut tree.

Tree of Life

As we all know, coconut is also known as the “Tree of Life” since its roots up to its leaves are very useful; but in this particular post, we will focus on the edible oil extracted from the mature kernel meat – the coconut oil.

Strut the Coconut

Commonly used in frying, coconut oil is a common kitchen condiment, but little did we know, it is also classified as a superfood as recent research has shown that not all saturated fats are bad for you afterall, and that includes coconut oil.

Saturated fats may increase the level of cholesterol in the blood, but this cholesterol is not always necessarily the “bad” cholesterol.

Did You Know?

There are 2 types of cholesterol:

  1. High Density Lipoproteins (Good Cholesterol)
  2. Low Density Lipoproteins (Bad Cholesterol)

The Bad Cholesterol (LDL) gets deposited in the inner walls of arteries and poses a threat for the heart but the Good Cholesterol (HDL) does just the opposite; it helps lower the LDL, while providing energy and nutrition.

Did You Know?

Coconut oil’s major component is 45-52% lauric acid.

Some of the chemical properties of coconut oil are saturated fatty acids like Palmitic Acid, Capric Acid and Lauric Acid.

Yes to Strong Gut, No to Smelly Butt

One of the chemical component of coconut oil that, in sufficient amount can reverse candida overgrowth and help restore a healthier gut intestinal bacterial flora/biome balance.

Coconut oil clears the mouth of microbes, helps in oral health like preventing tooth decay and treats sore throat and bad breath. It also has anti-microbial properties that helps clear skin, treats psoriasis and burn while moisturizes skin.

Stress Remover, not a Heart Breaker

Lauric Acid raises the level of High Density Lipoproteins, aka the good cholesterol in the body. It lowers Bad Cholesterol, boostfs immunity and increase the rate of metabolism. It also fights aging and helps in shedding weight.

Coconut oil’s major chemical component which is the lauric acid can reduce not just the possibility of hypertension or high blood pressure, but also of oxidative stress – which is the result when the body is not being able to scavenge free radicals from normal metabolic functions of the body creating toxic overload of chronic diseases and cancer-causing group of atoms with an unrepaired number of electrons.

Memory Booster

Fatty acids found in coconut oil can increase the body’s blood levels of ketones, responsible in supplying energy for the brain cells. Hence, it can boost brain function in Alzheimer’s patients. Ketone bodies are an alternative energy source for the brain; for the management of Alzheimer’s disease and epilepsy.
