#GerifiedPH: Help Reshape Your Child’s Future with Parentology+

I’m a parent. What’s your superpower?
Yes, I never thought that being a parent is a superpower, too! But guess what, our kid’s future lies in our hands, and hence, we have the power to empower them or bring them down! Good thing, Nestle Nankid created a venue that’ll help parents use their powers to help reshape our child’s future!
Parentology KV
Last February 6, Nestle Nankid Milk launched Parentology+ at the Trinoma Mall Activity Center. The event was joined in by almost a hundred guests to support the advocacy in helping parents take charge of their child’s future through the simple things they do at home.
Parentology recreates a home and its rooms. The space has three stations touching on topics about lifestyle, physical activity and socialization.
After the success of its Metro Manila run, Nestlé NANKID will be bringing Parentology outside of the Metro! To reach more parents, it will be followed by events in: SM City Clark on February 10-11, Abreeza Davao on March 3-4, and SM City Cebu on March 17-18.

Today’s world is vastly different from what it was just a decade ago, causing anxiety among parents trying hard to provide their children a future full of possibilities. Technology, environmental changes, and lifestyle shifts have redefined the way people do and view things, so much so that today’s parents sometimes feel overwhelmed by the world their children are growing in.

Unlike a generation ago when school children often ate home-cooked meals and played games with neighbors, today’s children often consume fast food items while playing video games on their handhelds. Parks and outdoor spaces have been replaced by sprawling malls, while the ever increasing population has meant traffic congestion, pollution, and other urban challenges that did not exist or were not as bad ten years ago. As a result, many children have become couch potatoes with limited socialization opportunities. A number of growing kids struggle with issues such as obesity, socialization difficulties, attention problems, and the like.

Worse, there are factors that parents feel they could not do much about such as family health history, to name a few, which could potentially influence their children’s future.

Despite all these challenges, parents still possess the power to reshape the future of their children. With commitment, knowledge, and support, they can build a better future for their kids.

To guide parents in reshaping the future of their children, Nestlé NANKID is partnering with them in advancing Parentology+, an advocacy to help parents take charge of their future with simple steps that can be taken right at home.  These day-to-day measures cover the different phases of life, such as diet and nutrition, exercise and activity, socialization, and creativity.

To launch Parentology+, Nestlé NANKID will be holding a series of events to bring the advocacy closer to parents across the country. The events will feature bloggers who are also parents, and who can share their experiences about different aspects of their parenting journey. Blogger Stephanie Zubiri-Crespi and Nestlé Nutritionist Ms. Aleli Magtibay will give insights on nutrition and diet.  Football player Anton del Rosario will share how he got his son to embrace an active lifestyle and love sports.  Entrepreneur and stylist Cat Arambulo-Antonio will speak on how she helped her children learn to socialize with their peers, and tidbits on how to stimulate their creativity and confidence.

Parentology+ recreates a typical home and its rooms. The space will consist of three stations touching on three important topics: Food, Physical Activity and Socialization– fill your day with ways you can stay lean at the Foodie station and make sure to get that drool-worthy photo, jump into a ball pit at the Play station and play on a giant piano at the Social station, and so much more! Each station will be decked out to be Instagram-worthy for those who want to share their family bonding moments on social media so make sure to check it out!

To up the ante, a special keepsakes and lots of freebies will be given to the participants. And for added excitement, Nestlé NANKID will be giving away Instax SQ10 cameras to two lucky attendees in each run!

27628727_1657286267647960_60075100573431926_o.jpg

Parentology+ kicks off starting February 3 to 4 at the Activity Center in Trinoma Mall, which starts the Metro Manila run. To reach more parents, it will be followed by events in:

  • SM City Clark on February 10-11,

  • Abreeza Davao on March 3-4, and

  • SM City Cebu on March 17-18.

Tanduay Athletics Locked In for Grassroots Basketball

Every hard work should have a reward, so take a time out from your daily hustle and unwind with Tanduay Rhum! Tanduay is the number one rhum for every occasion.

Tanduay Distillers Inc. president Lucio “Bong” Tan, Jr. is taking his support to grassroots sports a step further as he goes on full offensive for Batangas Tanduay Athletics in the new Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL).

Tan, whose passion for basketball was cultivated in childhood, believes he saw a formidable ally in MPBL founder Sen. Manuel Pacquiao in providing opportunities for local talents from the regions to advance their basketball dreams.

27709430_1995112373837899_1044089369190399697_o

“When we formed Tanduay Athletics, we had grassroots youth development as one of its major thrusts. We believe we can give equal opportunities to aspiring basketball talents from the cities and the regions through MPBL,” Tan said.

The MPBL features teams that represent a province, city or municipality in a home-and-away set up, where players get to play in front of hometown fans.
Each team is required to have at least three players that are homegrown to the area they represent.

Aside from Batangas Tanduay Athletics, other teams playing for the MPBL include Bataan Defenders, Bulacan Kuyas, Valenzuela Classic, Marikina Athletics, Caloocan Supremos, Navotas Redcore and Muntinlupa.

“We put our hope in the next generation to make better their lives and become useful to society. To give meaning to words, we support avenues that will enable them like the MPBL and Batangas is close to home. That makes this endeavor special and worthwhile,” Tan further explained.

Tanduay Distillers’ alcohol refinery Absolut Distillers Inc. has been operating for 26 years in Lian, Batangas. It is one of the country’s most advanced distilleries that has received multiple local and international awards for operating on zero waste and employing green practices.

“We have a very encouraging start with the strong performance of the team. We hope to continue the momentum. But in every league or sport we support, what’s important is how we are making a difference in the lives of the athletes. How they develop as individuals and how they will continue to inspire a nation as an athlete like Manny Pacquiao is why we are here to support,” Tan concluded.

The Batangas-Tanduay Athletics had an early win during a match with Valenzuela Classic and Bataan Defenders as former Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) players Val Acuna and Lester Alvarez lead the way for the new team.

MPBL games air every Tuesday, Thursday, and ‪Saturday from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m in ABSCBN Sports and Action. ‬‬

Take a swig and enjoy the moment with Tanduay Rhum.

#GerifiedPH: Morissette is Made

This pretty girl has been aired on national television for quite sometime. From TV5’s Variety Shows like Sunday Funday, Funtastik and Hey It’s Saberdey, and sitcoms like Pidol’s Wonderland, she is now regularly seen on ABS-CBN’s Top Sunday Variety Show, ASAP19. Morissette, whose name is Johanne Morissette Amon in real life is now ready to show the world more of what she’s made of.

26196170_1730076443680390_2883268055500312624_n

One of the things I learned about Morissette, is that she recently got herself not one, not two, but seven awards. Those of which recognized her as an elite member of Wish family on YouTube with several bronze trophies for 10 million views, silver trophies for 25 million views and gold for hitting more than 50 million views! Now that’s a lot, and more than recognition should be given to this powerful girl’s voice, she really needs to have a concert!

The concert, dubbed as “Morissette is Made” is “really made for her”, BMPI CEO/President, Mr. Daniel Razon shared. “We believe that she is good. She’s talented and that she can bring Filipino pride elsewhere in the world. We also believe that Wish 107.5 contributed also to why she became who she is now in the Musical Arena,” he added.

The singer also expresses her excitement for the upcoming concert: “I’m very excited for this concert because other than it’s going to be a whole new experience working with a differenft team, the Big Dome is THE Big Dome… The greatest of Filipino and international artists have all performed there, and for me to be able to hold my next solo concert there is just surreal,” according to Morissette.

“We want to give them the very best of what we can offer, from the stage to the music to the guests! But most of all, I want this concert to be an EXPERIENCE for everybody, that beyond all the visuals and sounds, by the end of the concert, they’ll be able to feel something.” she added. Aside from excitement, Morissette is very thankful for all the blessings and support that she has been receiving. “I primarily want to thank the whole Wish 107.5 family for trusting me to be the very first artist whom they will produce a major concert of… just those times I got to sing on the famous ‘WishBus’ have definitely become one of the highlights of my journey/career,” she said. “And also, endless thanks to everyone who’s been there for me-those who are with me on this journey.

THIS CONCERT IS FOR YOU GUYS, BECAUSE YOU MADE ME WHO I AM TODAY.” – Morissette.

MADE is directed by Paolo Valenciano with Adonis Tabanda as the musical director. According to Paolo, “Morissette is one of those artists that just makes me so comfortable to go to work because I know she will deliver. We wat to immerse her fans into the ultimate Morissette experience and we’re all very excited!”

The Dome was expected to be filled by “Mowieatics” here and around the globe together with the support of her friends in the music industry. David Cosico came up with the Morissette is Made, and for Morissette being MADE is defined as a person who has been thru so much in her life and came to that moment of truth.

Regarding her vocal squeak, she said that she accidentally stumbled upon this while finding her own image, to add spice to the vocals and was influenced her favorite foreign singers like Mariah Carey, Jessy J., and Demi Lovato.

I also had the chance to asked her some of my curiosity and she generously answered. Here’s a rough wrap up of what had transcribed.

Aside from singing, what other talent do we need to know about you?
Morissette liked to dance as well, she also detailed to us how she used to have a sing-dance performances with the A-Team.

Your voice was so powerful; are you open to theatrical performances?
I was surprised to learn that she already did the theatrics acts with camp rock and Chuva Choo Choo by Veni Saturno.

You mentioned you want to become a director someday; what kind of performances you like to direct?
It’s a no-brainer, she as a singer would also like to direct music concerts, too.

When asked if she also play instruments, Morissette happily shared that she likes playing the guitar and she has fingers made for the piano.

Aside from being a singer, are you open on becoming an actress? What genre?
She already had an experience in acting with Director Joyce Bernal and if she’ll pursue her acting career, she would like to be included on a science-fiction, action-adventure films.

morissetteismade gerifiedph.jpgYours truly with Morissette at the #MorissetteisMade Press Launch, more photos of the event here.

Morissette is actually celebrating her 7 years in the showbiz industry and would like to perform with Gary Valenciano, Mr. Pure Energy on a sing-dance concert and birit sessions with Ms. Regine Velasquez and Sarah Geronimo aside from other international artists.

What keeps this girl hitting the high notes was her number one supporter group and avid fans, her family. Finally, when asked if she is nervous on filling up the coliseum, she effortlessly winged it by saying, “We are hoping that Smart Araneta Coliseum will be filled, but what’s for sure, is that the audience will have a great time!”
Morissette is Made

Wish 107.5, the No.1 FM Station on YouTube, in cooperation with Stages and RankOne Productions proudly present Morissette’s first major solo concert to be held on February 20, 2018 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Mowienatics are over the moon and is going loco on getting their hands on Morissette’s first ever concert tickets! Tickets are available at www.smartaranetacoliseum.com and www.ticketnet.com.ph.

#GerifiedPH: No more Peligro every Petsa de Peligro!

Petsa de Peligro is a term that originated in Spain but was adopted in the Philippines in the Spanish Era – the time when the Spaniards colonized the Filipinos. It is term that defines “troubled times”.

#1429JolliSerye

In the corporate world, employees defined the days before their payday, usually the 14th of the month and the 29th of the month as their Petsa de Peligro due to the fact that most employees are hanging on to the last one hundred peso bill in their pocket simply because they do not know how to handle their finances or simply because the salary just isn’t enough.

#GerifiedPH: Go #BICtoSchool for #BICBrightFutures

18892977_910580452427737_4037014620722262087_n

Bright Futures are Written by Hand – this is what BIC Product Asia launched as its back-to-school campaign in the Philippines in partnership with their exclusive distributor in the country, the Filstar Distributors Corporation.

You might ask why is BIC still emphasizing on handwriting given the proliferation of technology. Indeed, we are living in a changing world and while handwriting might seem trivial for some, it is passion for some – and that includes me. My smartphone, laptop and tablet may have calendar, but I personally like writing down my ideas and schedules in my planner, I even do manual computation with a pencil and eraser to check if my Structural Analysis Program output is more or less correct, realistic and feasibly economical.

Let us also not forget that handwriting is still essential and vital to a child’s development. The act of handwriting alone helps develop a child’s cognitive and motor skills, helps boost memory and creativity as well as promotes self-confidence and interpersonal skills.

Bright ideas came from hand-writing.

Ready to be #BICtoSchool! #Kulayot and #Dabibot is ready to discover the #kidzaniamanila world and have #BICBrightFutures!

BICBrightFutures gerifiedph.jpg

Today, BIC wants children to love handwriting again. Via Filstar Distributors Corporation, BIC Product Asia kicked off its biggest social campaign in Asia, the #BICBrightFutures! As Champions of Education, BIC believes that a bright future is not limited for the fortunate, but is for everyone. It is a right to be educated and education is a great tool for the equalization of the social status of the community, and in the long run, the world.

Filstar Distributors Corporation prides itself as having been the exclusive licensee of Hallmark in the Philippines since 1974 and the exclusive distributor of BIC Stationery products since 2001. Since then, Filstar has evolved to be a distributor of not just these two distinguished brands but of other world class brands that supplement and enhance the self-expression industry. In 2013, Filstar expanded its partnership with BIC to over BIC lighters and shavers categories.

Hand-writing is in the DNA of the BIC Company.

Last October 26, BIC Product Asia celebrated the importance of handwriting and education; with friends from the media and bloggers, BIC culminated Kidzania Manila in BGC as a ground for a fun day of learning and playing with the company’s 200 children beneficiaries from Children’s Hour, Kariton Klasrum and Yellow Boat of Hope.

BIC wants to Inspire people to express themselves.

When I was a child, I remember writing down telephone numbers inside my fancy notebook – I remember Mr. Brown, Atty. Marmalade and Lily from the red London Bus. That fancy notebook was placed beside my curly rotary phone, and I jot down letters, doodle patterns and curves, and sketched houses and buildings as I give them a ring. I even fold manila papers into squares pretending they are my blueprints. True enough, those pretend games and the handwriting subconsciously solidified my ambitions and now, I am a licensed engineer, signing real blueprints and building structures.

This is exactly what BIC wants to revive. BIC through their employees and subsidiaries worldwide has now been marking significant impact in the lives of thousand of students, all whom know that BIC supports them in their quest for a brighter future.

Write it on the paper and make it real.

Hosted by Ms. Issa Litton, #BICBrigthFutures event showcase masters of education and selfless philanthropies with a burning passion to help the hopes of our future – the children.

Kariton Klasrum’s Mr. Efren Penaflorida, CNN Hero of the Year 2009, a social worker and a teacher who was greeted with salute has shared with the BEST valuable lesson in life.

B if for Believe That You Can – Never stop believing in yourself. Who first should believe in your dreams and hopes but yourself. Stop comparing yourself to others, but instead focus on what you got, and from create small stepping stones that will eventually lead you to your success.

Practice doesn’t make someone perfect but it brings progress.

E is for Excel in Every Work – Enough is not good enough. Don’t settle for anything but the best. Adults need to support children. Criticize but do not belittle them. Push them, protect them, understand them.

S is for Stand firm to what is true and noble – Value education and fight ignorance and poverty but remember,

Cheating is not an option to succeed in life.

Do the right things at all circumstances whether someone is watching or not, that is what we call Integrity.

T is for Think of ways to improve yourself – “Self-improvement is universal to the human experience; we all have things we’d like to change about ourselves. Perhaps you want to lose weight, improve your skills in a certain area, be more comfortable socially, be happier, or more productive. Whatever the ultimate improvement desired, in order to achieve it you may benefit from identifying your specific goals, enacting change, and coping with setbacks.” – from Wiki.

Know what you want, set your game plan and execute!

“Our main focus, since Kariton Klasrum’s inception, has always been about bringing education to less-fortunate children. Through this event, we will be able to show them that a bright future is possible for them as they plan for it and persevere to achieve it,” said Efren Penaflorida, founder of Kariton Klastum.

Do you want to memorize faster? Write it down.

For one day, the children from Kariton Klasrum and Children’s Hour are encouraged to have fun while exploring the adult world by immersing themselves in over 100 role-playing activities in the play city. Using BIC pens, they also plot their goals and dreams in a special BIC Bright Futures workbook.

Ms. Net Garcia, Children Hour Executive Director said that “Many children are in great need of encouragement from the adults in their lives in order to push themselves to work hard for a better future. We are happy that our kids will walk away with a sneak peak at what their own futures can hold, as well as a new hope.”

Education serves a platform to secure a brighter future.

We jumped on our seats – that is how Mr. Jay Jaboneta of Yellow Boat of Hope started his talk. Jay always let the audience jump first as it initialized the audience jump on the yellow school boat. Welcome aboard! Yellow Boat of Hope’s main mission is to make sure that kids go to school safely and they started off with a single yellow boat that crosses children from the riverbank.

“We have always believed that bright futures are written by hand. As adults, many of us have become what we are today because we put pen to paper and wrote down our ambitions. That act of writing down our aspirations makes the dream seem real. Today, we want to inspire less-fortunate children to dream and work for their futures, because after all, everyone deserves a bright furute. ” said Frederic Dumon, BIC Asia Deputy General Manager.

More photos of the event here.

No one is superior by size but by purpose.

The big sun can never do what the small sun (moon) can, and that is to give light at night, hence, BIC feels strongly about giving back to communities where the group is present in the form of product or financial donations and volunteering. As part of its strong societal commitment, the BIC Corporate Foundation for Education was launched in 2016 focusing on fighting for universal access of education as a basic human right. Through this foundation, BIC is engaged in the fight against school drop-outs, access to education for girls and women and environmental education. In the same year, the global company has made 112 donations to promote education giving more than 6 million pens to children in need.

The highlight of the event, BIC’s half a million of stationery product donation to Children’s Hour, Yellow Boat of Hope and Kariton Klasrum to help kids as they pursue their dreams. The turn over ceremony promoted access to education with 1.7 Million Dollars donation last year and this year, is the biggest donation so far with 500,000 stationery products with an average of 2 pens and 2 pencils per kid!

BIC is a family-owned company listed on the Paris Stock Exchange and a world leader in stationery, lighters and shavers. For more than 60 years, BIC has honored the tradition of providing high-quality, simple, inventive and reliable choices for everyone, everywhere, every day worldwide with 18.9 million stationery products, 4.2 million lighters, 7.1 million savers and 0.7 million promotional products.

One of the things I noticed on the latest BIC TVC is that the pens are sturdier and break-resistant and found out that those are actually called Evolution Pencils which are wood free and no splinter type. Aside from that smart innovation, BIC products are toxic-free and complies with United Kingdom’s EN 71 making the products environment-friendly. What’s more? There are improvement on BIC’s industrial design of materials like preventing the children from chocking by making the ballpen’s cap open with a hole.

Toxic-free crayons, splinter-free pencils and holes on pen’s cap are a few of the industrial innovations that makes BIC child-friendly.

BIC encourages out-of-school youths to go BIC to school to because it pays off to work hard. There’s no graduation in learning and that’s a good thing because it only means that you can still shape your future starting by handwriting it down using BIC stationery materials.
