#GerifiedPH: Mahalo Jollibee for bringing back Amazing Aloha Yumburger!

A sweet Aloha and a necklace of flower-like bouquet of dollars always greeted us whenever they arrive at the airport. The grandparents migrated to Hawaii a year before I was born. They always travel back here in the Philippines every five years or so and they always make kwento on how it was in the pineapple farm.

Did you know? Hawaii’s biggest island is Honolulu.

The soft breeze of air in the farm smells like pineapple whenever its harvesting time and they harvest pineapple by cutting the plant with a sharp bolo in the bottom where the fruit joins the stalk and then simply leave it to ripen up on room temperature. It was always a hard but fruitfully sweet work because it takes almost three years for a single pineapple to reach maturity and cutting a pineapple is a feat. What’s more? Hawaiians called drizzles on a sunny day a “Pineapple Juice”.

Did you know? Hawaii produces about 1/3 of all pineapples in the world.

The pineapple is one of my favorite fruits. It’s sour but sweet taste always add zing to the dishes like Pininyahang Adobo, Pineapple Bistek and even Chicken Estofado in Pineapple juice. We also have Pineapple Hopia and Cassava with Pineapple. One can never go wrong in adding the pineapple punch and Jollibee knew it.

Did you know? Jollibee’s Aloha Yumburger is a Millennial.

Launched in 1996, Jollibee’s truly Amazing Aloha Yumburger is making a comeback this year. This Pinoy burger was re-introduced in 2013 as the Amazing Aloha Yumburger and in 2014 as the Amazing Aloha Champ. Best known for featuring a sweet, juicy pineapple ring among its main ingredients, this uniquely flavorful burger has delighted the taste buds of Jollibee’s loyal customers.

“The Amazing Aloha Yumburger is Jollibee’s most successful limited-time-offer,” shared Luis Berba, Jollibee Brand Manager for Yumburger. “There was nothing like it in the market since we first included it in the Jollibee menu. Back then, burgers were fundamentally similar. Jollibee wanted to introduce something different to the Filipino market, something thar brings together the sweet-savory flavor combination that many Pinoy diners love.”

The result of this desire to bring something different to the table was the explosive combination of ingredients, textures and flavors on a truly flavorful sweet-savory burger.

Did you know? Pineapple are carnivores.

Sound weird, but scientifically true. One crazy fun fact about pineapple is that it fights back. Pineapples bites back, that’s the reason why your lips and tongue stings whenever you are eating pineapples. It is because the fruit contains a bromelain enzyme that breaks down meat proteins. Of course, that won’t stop the pineapple maniac like yours truly in drizzling a pinch of salt into the concoction.

The Jollibee Amazing Aloha Yumburger owes its legendary status to the flavor explosion that comes with every bite. The heart of every Aloha Yumburger is the 100% langhap-sarap pure beef patty, which has cemented the place of Jollibee Yumburger in the hearts of customers. Flavor-packed on its own, the langhap-sarap patty reaches another level of deliciousness when combined with sweet and juicy pineapple ring, crisp bacon strip, a specially blended honey mustard dressing, and fresh lettuce.

It’s no wonder why the Amazing Aloha Yumburger has remained to be one of Jollibee’s most memorable offerings-this combination of ingredients and flavors alone is more than enough to entice even the pickiest burger eaters! So legendary is the Amazing Aloha Yumburger that it even impressed one of the world’s most renowned food experts, Anthony Bourdain.

The famous chef, TV host, anchor, and culinary adventurer discovered the Amazing Aloha Yumburger during a trip to a Jollibee branch in Los Angeles, California for his CNN show Parts Unknown.

Anthony Bourdain to Amazing Aloha Yumburger: “that’s a very tasty burger!”

Jollibee truly knows the Filipino taste buds and that it’s ready to take a bite to juicy sweet and savory pineapple burger! The Amazing Aloha Yumburger is back in all Jollibee stores nationwide, starting October 2017. Customers can take a bite of this legendary burger for only Php85.00 for Amazing Aloha Yumburger Solo.*

Introducing Jolly U: Jollibee’s new web series taps into Gen Z

Jolly Hotdog takes the stage in “Extra Saya” teen-centric episodes

Jolly U.jpg

This week, the Philippines’ #1 fast-food brand, Jollibee launched Jolly U, a series of online videos depicting comical ways of teens going the extra mile in even the most mundane of tasks and situations.

The Jolly U series brings together modern Pinoy teen archetypes that one will usually find in a university or college setting, but each of them offer an exciting twist to viewers’ typical expectations. In the video below, the jolliest university in the world introduces us to its Bee Happy mission and some of its top students including The MVP, The Pogeek, The Coolokoy and The Heartist.

Today’s Filipino teens are “harder to impress” than older generations, as shown by recent studies.1 Growing up with a wider range of opportunities thanks to the digital landscape, the trends and technologies that older generations used to think were amazing are now perceived as standard and ordinary by teens who get exposed to them on a regular basis. For this reason, young Pinoy digital natives look forward to going over and beyond or—in their own terms—“extra”, in all aspects.

“We took the time to get to know our teens and what makes them tick,” shares Francis Flores, Jollibee Global Chief Marketing Officer and Philippines Head of Marketing. “For Gen Z, being ‘extra’ is about going over-the-top and putting more fun into anything and everything.”

Our favorite langhap-sarap Cheesy Yumburger just got a whole lot cheesier!

The new and improved Cheesy Yumburger is super cheesy and langhap-sarap!

Cheesy Yum.jpg

Take a well-loved cheesy classic and take it to another level of cheesiness.

This is Jollibee’s perfect recipe for the recent slew of flavor innovations it serves to millions of Filipinos all over the country and in the world. The newest offering to receive an upgrade is the Cheesy Yumburger, a popular variant of the fast-food giant’s pioneering Yumburger.

“The new Cheesy Yumburger is the Pinoy cheeseburger,” said Luis Berba, Jollibee Brand Manager for YUM Burgers. “It’s the classic combination of beef, cheese, and Jollibee’s very own special burger dressing that has made it so popular among Filipino diners of all ages.”

Despite the Cheesy Yumburger’s enduring popularity, the Jollibee team still wanted to improve the flavors and dining experience for its ever-expanding customer base. So they went back to the Research and Development lab and went around asking actual diners what they would like to see and taste in their cheeseburgers.

The result is a cheesy concoction like no other Jollibee fan has seen before. Creamy cheddar cheese is melted on top of the 100% beef Yumburger patty, making for a mouthwateringly cheesy and beefy experience with every bite.

This classic combination of beef and cheddar cheese is complemented by soft burger buns and Jollibee’s special burger dressing, which add different dimensions of texture and flavor.

“Jollibee is always committed to constant innovation of flavors and dining experiences for our customers,” added Berba. “The new and improved Cheesy Yumburger, with its uniquely Pinoy taste and cheesier flavor profile, is more delicious than ever—the perfect Jollibee offering for burger lovers who want langhap-sarap goodness in their cheeseburger.”

Simply unwrapping the Cheesy Yumburger treats diners to the appetizing aromas of pure beef seasoned the Pinoy way and cheddar cheese, with a fragrant whiff of fresh burger buns. From these aromas alone, one can be sure of a great meal ahead!

Rich classic flavors, real value: the Jollibee Burger Steak

Combination of unbeatable taste and local flavor behind timeless fast-food offering

 1-pc Burger Steak.png

For the longest time, the global fast-food scene has one strict rule for beef patties: they only belong between burger buns.

But in a country like the Philippines, a meal can never be considered a proper one without our favorite grain: rice. Most of the local dishes go well with a serving of white rice and a splash of flavorful sauce or broth.

BurgerSteak2

In 1995, Jollibee—the country’s top fast-food chain and proud homegrown Pinoy brand—brought together a fast-food favorite and a Pinoy staple to create a new classic offering: the Burger Steak. Made with 100% beef patty seasoned to suit Pinoy tastes, drizzled with a flavorful mushroom gravy (a time-tested flavor pairing used the world over: beef and mushroom), and served with white rice, the Burger Steak was an instant hit for diners looking for their kanin-and-ulam fix.

“The Jollibee Burger Steak was inspired by something that many Pinoys know to be true: a flavor-packed, saucy ulam served with steamed white rice really hits the spot,” said Cathleen Capati, Jollibee Core Category Marketing Director. “But that’s the beauty of that idea. It seemed so simple, but nobody else did that over twenty years ago. For me, Jollibee only proved that we truly know and understand the Pinoy palate.”

Today, the Burger Steak remains to be a consistent Jollibee best-seller, with hundreds and hundreds of meals sold each day in 1,000 Jollibee stores nationwide. The rich classic flavors that this dish delivers is just one reason for its enduring popularity, as the fact that it has remained very affordable for over two decades continues to attract customers, too.

“Aside from the Burger Steak delivering a truly beefy-linamnam, saucy-sarap dining experience every time, it delivers great value, too,” added Ms. Capati. “For only 50 pesos, you get delicious ulam and rice for a truly satisfying meal.”

Experience the beefy-linamnam and saucy-sarap goodness of the Burger Steak for yourself today. The Jollibee Burger Steak is available for dine-in, take-out, delivery, and drive-thru transactions, with prices starting at P50.00* for the Solo Meal.
